The Importance Of Academic Writing - 1528 Words
The ability to think for oneself is a fundamental aspect humans need to be successful in life. And academic writing is a way to develop this ability, and is why it should still be valued in society. Because academic writing is used frequently, they hold a lot of power. Especially in this generation, since comments and opinions are often heard of in social platforms and can easily influence a person; however, even without the use of social platforms, academic writing still causes a lot of influence and can even help a person find what type of career they want to do. The best minds are often those who love to think; who reads to understand the deeper meaning an author may want to convey to readers without explicitly addressing it rightâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦But, academic writing doesnââ¬â¢t often produce such a negative impact; rather it can also produce something extraordinarily groundbreaking. Groundbreaking like Albert Einsteinââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"The Meaning of Relativity.â ⬠ââ¬Å"The Meaning of Relativityâ⬠is a collection of four Stafford Little Lectures Einstein delivered in 1921 at Princeton University and published by this universityââ¬â¢s press a year later. These lectures describe Einsteinââ¬â¢s theory of relativity and in it he states, ââ¬Å"How are our customary ideas of space and time related to the character of our experiences?â⬠(Einstein, 1). This is the ending sentence of his first paragraph and it invokes the readers to ponder on this. Afterwards, he goes on to explain the two main points on this theory, which is special relativity and general relativity. However at this time, Einsteins ideas was often criticized by other physicists because there were many that were traditionalists and only believed in classical physics (in which objects need to be physically forced to go into motion) and his theory of relativity contradicted this.
